The Best Spots On UC Irvine Campus To Sit Back And Relax
Contributed by UC Irvine student writer Alexia Salzano.
Finding time to relax as a student is no easy task. For most of us, taking a break is a secondary thought after we finish all of our homework, studying, classes, and work. Despite this, taking a step back and taking a break is one of the best ways to destress and put everything into perspective. To help you find a sweet spot to kick back and relax, I have compiled three of my favorite places that hopefully you will be able to enjoy.
Aldrich Park
Aldrich Park is a student favorite spot to hang out. Whether it be painting, reading, throwing frisbees, or taking a nap in the hammocks, Aldrich Park is for everyone. The park has soft, green grass that makes for a nice and cozy resting spot. You don't even have to bring a blanket — that's how soft the grass is. You could also destress by walking a furry friend and enjoying the blue skies and California sun. If you want to walk around, there are plenty of different trees and animal species that you could explore. You might even spot a squirrel or two!
Top Floor of Langson Library
If you want to admire a nice view, but want to stay outdoors, the top of the Langson Library is the place for you. With a stunning campus view and comfy chairs to lounge in, this hidden spot is one of my favorite places to go when I want to be alone. It is an incredibly quiet spot that is perfect for naps, catching some rays, and de-stressing in general.
It should be noted that because this is where the staff offices are located, so the roof area closes at 5pm.
UCI Student Center
The Student Center provides an array of places to eat, shop, and hang out. If you want to grab a bite, there are a variety of dining options to satisfy your appetite, whether it be for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Some options include Panda Express, Wendy’s, Bento Sushi, and Starbucks. If you want to relax by playing some video games, the Student Center is home to the Esports Arena where there are a diverse amount of the most popular games at UCI. If you like to relax by doing some shopping, the student center is home to The Hill, a UCI store that offers merchandise, study material, among other things.
